This rare collection of photographs taken in Peking between 1933 and 1945 provides a fascinating insight into life in Peking in the years preceding the Communist revolution of 1949. The photographer, Hedda Morrison, left Nazi Germany in 1933 to take charge of a German-owned photographic studio in Peking. She is married to Alastair Morrison, the son of G.E. Morrison (Morrison of Peking).
