A rare edition of William Faulkner’s crowning achievement, The Sound and the Fury, published by London-based Chatto & Windus in 1978. Starting in 1966 Chatto started to reissue Faulkner’s works as part of a Collected Edition. This is one of those titles.
The cover art is by the prolific artist John Woodcock whose book designs have become the stuff of legend in the publishing and design fields. Woodcock died in 2017 after 40 plus years as an artist, actor and author. He was 89.
